About Diamond Chique

Caterham, Surrey, United Kingdom
We’re a female band with a difference. We write and perform our own music and we all have children and busy family lives. It’s important to us that we are real and not manufactured – we believe that you can make things happen if you work hard, keep focused and enjoy what you do. It’s not about instant celebrity for us but more about personal fulfilment and the realisation of dreams and aspiration and, of course, having some fun along the way!

The girls play Santa at East Surrey Hospital

The girls brought an early Christmas for young patients at East Surrey Hospital, giving out presents and spending time chatting with the kids and their parents. They were also interviewed on Radio Redhill, the radio station for East Surrey Hospital and received the second on-air outing for their new single ‘Sophisticated’.

“We really enjoyed meeting the kids,” say the girls. “We hope they like the presents and wish everyone at the hospital a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”

The girls are planning to release ‘Sophisticated’ as a single early next year. You can get a sneak preview of the song and the video here.

Diamond Chique brings Christmas cheer to home town

The girls brought a bit of festive cheer to their home town of Caterham on Monday 1st December when they switched on the Christmas lights in the Church Walk shopping centre. A large crowd of people both young and old gathered to watch them perform Bing Crosby's classic 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas' and then switch on the lights.

The girls also gave out signed Christmas cards and balloons for their younger fans and posed for press pictures with a bright red Caterham 7 kindly loaned by Caterham Cars.

"We had great fun switching on the lights - it was great to see so many people turn out to come and see us, even though it was freezing!," say the girls. "We'd like to thank everyone who came to see us and give their support."

A big thanks also goes out to Shelley at the Church Walk Shopping Centre, Andy Noble at Caterham Cars and Rebecca and Chris at Chillout.uk who've been managing the girl's styling.

Diamond Chique to light up home town

The girls will shortly be lighting up their home town of Caterham when they switch on the town's Christmas lights on Monday 1st December. Taking place at the Church Walk shopping centre, Caterham, at 4pm, the switch on will feature the girls delivering their own take on Bing Crosby's classic 'Have yourself a merry little Christmas'.

Posters promoting the Christmas lights switch on can be seen around the town (see above) and children from the area's schools have been invited to attend.

"With all that's going on at the moment with the economy and money troubles, it's easy to forget that Christmas is meant to be an exciting time of year," say the girls. "We wanted to inject a little bit of fun and put smiles on people's faces."

Diamond Chique rolls the cameras on first video

While most people normally choose to spend their Sunday at home relaxing, the girls were up bright and early (6:30am - ouch!) recording the video to their forthcoming single 'Sophisticated'. With the help of a very patient restaurant owner, some clever lighting, a lot of camera equipment, a team of stylists and willing extras recruited via ads in the local press, The Olive Tree restaurant in Banstead was temporarily converted into a nightclub venue, with stage and bar areas.

The girls also enlisted the help of Caterham Cars, who kindly loaned two of their famous cars for the shoot, which finished with the girls jumping into the cars and speeding off.

"We wanted to have not just a video that shows who we are, but also where we come from," says Amanda Neale, who both manages and sings in the group. "The cars were a great way of getting this across."

Amazingly, despite the number of different scenes that needed to be filmed, the whole shoot was wrapped in just a day. Some exclusive behind the scenes shots from the filming can be seen on the slideshow on the right.
